The debt per capita has increased rapidly since 2010, reaching a peak in 2016. Froma public debt of ALL 245 151belonging to each citizen in 2010, in 2016 this figure is expected to amount to ALL 375 986, or 53.37% more.

Since 2013, per capita debt has exceeded the limit of 300 000 ALL and in 2016 a tendency to approach more and more the level of 400 000 ALL is observed. An average family of four members in 2016 will carry a debt of ALL1,503,944 from ALL 980 604 in 2010.

The continuous growth of the debts stock over the years had the greatest impact on increasing the cost of debt per capita. However, it should be noted that the growth rate of the debt stock has decreased after 2014. In 2015, the debt increased by 6.66% and in 2016 it is projected to amount to 4.03% or about 42 billion more than in 2015. On the other hand, although at a more modest rate, the shrinking of the population provided its impact, which in 2016 was estimated to be only 0.22% lower than in 2015.
